Δεν ξέρω αν πρέπει να σχολιάσω το νέο κατόρθωμα του Αρχιεπισκόπου ή να του χαρίσω την απαξιωσή μου...
Αυτό που με απασχολεί είναι μήπως τελικά πίσω από την απαίτηση για την ματαίωση της συναυλίας των Slipknot στο Λυκαβηττό δεν κρύβεται το ενδιαφέρον του Αρχιεπισκόπου για τη σωτηρία της ψυχής μας, αλλά το ενδιαφέρον του για τη σωτηρία της καλής μουσικής...

Την ακύρωση της προγραμματισμένης για το βράδυ της Δευτέρας εμφάνισης του μουσικού συγκροτήματος Slipknot στο θέατρο Λυκαβηττού ζήτησε από το διευθυντή του Φεστιβάλ Αθηνών ο αρχιγραμματέας της Ιεράς Συνόδου, κάνοντας λόγο για «μουσική του σατανά».
Σε επιστολή του προς το διευθυντή του Φεστιβάλ Αθηνών, ο αρχιγραμματέας της Ιεράς Συνόδου, Σεραφείμ, επικαλείται δημοσιεύματα του Τύπου σχετικά με την εμφάνιση των Slipknot στο Λυκαβηττό, που ήταν προγραμματισμένη για τις 9.30 το βράδυ της Δευτέρας.
Τα δημοσιεύματα αυτά κάνουν λόγο για «μουσική του σατανά» και προβολή σατανιστικών και παγανιστικών συμβόλων, ενώ αναφέρεται χαρακτηριστικά ότι η μουσική του συγκροτήματος «θα ελευθερώσει σκοτεινές επιθυμίες».
Ο αρχιγραμματέας της Ιεράς Συνόδου ζήτησε να μην πραγματοποιηθεί η εκδήλωση αυτή, τονίζοντας ότι είναι καθήκον κάθε δημόσιου φορέα να προστατεύει τον Έλληνα πολίτη -και ιδιαίτερα τους νέους- από κάθε εκδήλωση που προωθεί το σατανισμό και τις καταστροφικές λατρείες και αντιβαίνει στο ισχύον Σύνταγμα.
